Template Design Tips: Pages That Look Professional

Simple design principles that make the difference between an amateur page and a polished one.

You don't need to be a designer to make a page that looks good. Follow these five principles and your page will look like a professional made it.

1. Less Is More

The best pages have plenty of white space (or dark space, if you prefer a dark theme). Don't try to fill every pixel. Let your content breathe.

2. Pick Two Fonts Maximum

One font for headings, one for body text. System fonts like the ones used in DesignGenerate templates look clean on every device and load instantly.

3. Use a Consistent Color Palette

Stick to two or three colors: a background, a text color, and one accent color for links and highlights. The official templates demonstrate this well — look at how each one uses color sparingly.

4. Make Text Readable

Body text should be at least 16px. Line height should be around 1.7 to 1.9. Maximum line width should be around 600-700px. These numbers aren't arbitrary — they're what makes text comfortable to read on screens.

5. Test on Your Phone

More than half of web traffic is mobile. Before you share your page, open it on your phone. If something looks cramped or text is too small, adjust your template.
